The Power of Your Testimony

There are some stories that do more than describe a life. They reveal the mercy, patience, and providence of God.

In this personal testimony from Fannin County Seventh-day Adventist Church, Cindy Kaiser shared how Jesus led her through childhood pain, spiritual confusion, conviction, surrender, Sabbath truth, family struggles, evangelism, and mission. Her message centered on the powerful words of Revelation 12:11:

“They overcame him by the blood of the Lamb and by the word of their testimony.”

This sermon/testimony reminds us that when Christ has worked in a life, that story becomes a witness. People may debate doctrine, but they cannot argue with what Jesus has personally done for a soul.

No One Ever Cared Like Jesus

Cindy began by reflecting on the song “No One Ever Cared for Me Like Jesus.”

That thought became the heart of the message. Through every stage of life, Jesus was present. Even when circumstances were painful, even when choices were difficult, and even when the future was unclear, Christ was still working.

Her testimony pointed back to one central truth:

  • Jesus cares personally.
  • Jesus leads patiently.
  • Jesus restores broken lives.
  • Jesus hears desperate prayers.
  • Jesus has a plan even when we cannot see it.

This is why testimony matters. It gives glory to Christ, not to self.

Overcoming by the Word of Testimony

Revelation 12:11 says God’s people overcome by the blood of the Lamb and by the word of their testimony.

The blood of the Lamb is the foundation. We are saved only through Jesus Christ, His sacrifice, His righteousness, and His grace.

But the word of testimony also has power.

A testimony says:

  • This is what Jesus has done for me.
  • This is how God led me.
  • This is how truth changed my life.
  • This is how Christ carried me through suffering.
  • This is why I trust Him today.

When believers share what God has done, Satan’s accusations lose power. Christ is lifted up, and others are encouraged to believe that God can work in their lives too.

God’s Plan and Our Wandering

Cindy described how God has a plan for every life, but we often wander from that plan.

She spoke of “Plan A,” and how when we step away from it, God patiently works to bring us back. He does not give up after one mistake. He continues calling, guiding, correcting, and restoring.

This is a beautiful picture of grace.

God’s plan is not fragile. Our failures do not surprise Him. Our wandering does not exhaust His mercy. He keeps calling us back to Himself.

Childhood Pain and the Fatherhood of God

A meaningful part of the testimony focused on Cindy’s childhood and the pain of family brokenness.

She shared about being separated from her father, struggling with feelings of abandonment, and carrying deep emotional wounds. Yet later, she found comfort in the biblical truth that God is “a father of the fatherless.”

This is one of the most tender truths in Scripture.

When human relationships fail, God remains faithful.

When earthly fathers are absent, God is still near.

When childhood pain leaves questions, Christ can bring healing and purpose.

The Search for Truth

Cindy was raised Mormon and learned early about the importance of family, mission, and sharing faith. Later, after leaving church life and becoming caught in a lifestyle she knew was not right, she reached a breaking point.

She prayed a simple prayer:

“Help me, God. Help me.”

That prayer became a turning point.

God had already been working. Through Seventh-day Adventist believers, a health food store, friendship, kindness, and eventually a copy of Cosmic Conflict, the Lord was preparing the way for deeper truth.

Sabbath Truth and The Great Controversy

One of the major turning points in Cindy’s testimony was reading Cosmic Conflict, an edition of The Great Controversy.

As she read, especially about the Sabbath and the history of spiritual darkness, she became deeply convicted. She began asking whether Sunday sacredness could be proven from the Bible alone.

That question changed everything.

She came to see the beauty of Sabbath truth and the importance of standing on Scripture.

For Seventh-day Adventists, this is a reminder that the Sabbath is not merely a doctrine. It is part of God’s law, a gift from creation, and a sign of loyalty to the Creator.

Knowing Truth and Knowing Jesus

One powerful lesson from the testimony was that knowing truth is not enough if we do not personally know Jesus.

Cindy shared that her husband Steve had been raised Adventist and knew the truth, but knowing the truth intellectually did not mean he was converted.

This is an important warning.

Bible knowledge matters.

Doctrine matters.

The Sabbath matters.

Prophecy matters.

But all truth must lead us to Jesus.

Without Christ, truth can become only information. With Christ, truth becomes life, surrender, mission, and transformation.

Surrender Opens the Way

Cindy described a painful season in her marriage and her deep desire to have a child. Eventually, she surrendered that desire to God.

That surrender became a key moment.

She said that surrender is the key for God to work. When we release our own plans and let Jesus lead, we make room for His better plan.

This does not mean surrender is easy. Often it is painful. But surrender places the heart in the safest place possible: the hands of God.

Called to Work for God

After surrendering, Cindy experienced a clear call from God to quit her job and work for Him.

The call was later confirmed through Scripture, especially John 15:16:

“You did not choose Me, but I chose you and appointed you that you should go and bear fruit.”

This led to Bible work, preaching, evangelism, following up Bible study interests, and a growing burden for souls.

The testimony shows that God does not call everyone in the same way, but He does call every believer to serve.

Every Christian has a mission.

Every testimony can be used.

Every surrendered life can bear fruit.

God Restores and Provides

The testimony also included powerful stories of restoration.

God worked in Cindy’s marriage. Steve returned to the Lord. Their daughter Hannah was born as an answer to prayer. Their family entered ministry together. They trained through Amazing Facts and became involved in evangelistic work.

Later, God worked in Cindy’s father’s life. He accepted the Adventist message, loved The Desire of Ages, and shared it with others.

Her mother also came to love Jesus and embraced the Sabbath before her death.

These stories remind us that God is able to reach people we may think are far away.

We should never stop praying.

Mission and the Remnant Church

The testimony ended with a strong appeal to mission.

Cindy connected her story to Revelation 12:17, where the dragon is angry with those who keep the commandments of God and have the testimony of Jesus Christ.

From a traditional Seventh-day Adventist perspective, this is deeply significant. God has called His remnant people to share Bible truth, lift up Jesus, keep His commandments, proclaim the everlasting gospel, and prepare the world for Christ’s soon return.

This mission is not optional. It is the calling of the church.

It Is Time to Wake Up

Cindy closed by pointing to Matthew 25 and the parable of the ten virgins.

The warning was clear: the church must not sleep while the world needs truth.

People are searching.

People are confused.

People need hope.

People need Scripture.

People need Jesus.

The call is to wake up, go to work in the vineyard, and share the light God has entrusted to us.

Why This Message Matters Today

This testimony matters because many people are carrying silent stories.

Some feel abandoned.

Some are far from God.

Some are trapped in habits they cannot break.

Some know truth but do not yet know Jesus personally.

Some are praying for family members.

Some are wondering whether God still has a plan.

This message answers with hope:

Yes, God still has a plan.

Yes, Jesus still cares.

Yes, prayer still matters.

Yes, truth still changes lives.

Yes, testimony still has power.

A Call to Share What God Has Done

The Christian life is not only about receiving blessings. It is about bearing witness.

The world needs to hear what Jesus has done.

The church needs testimonies of grace, conviction, surrender, restoration, and mission.

Your testimony may be the very thing God uses to encourage someone else to believe that He can work in their life too.

Closing Appeal

Let us ask God for courage to share our testimony.

Let us ask Him to wake us up to the times in which we live.

Let us ask Him to make us faithful witnesses, not only in word, but in life.

May it be said of us that we overcame by the blood of the Lamb and by the word of our testimony.

Short Prayer

Lord Jesus, thank You for caring for us as no one else can. Thank You for Your patience, forgiveness, truth, and calling. Help us to surrender our plans to You, trust Your leading, and share what You have done in our lives. Wake us up to the mission before us, and use our testimony to lead others to You. In Jesus’ name, amen.
